We pride ourselves in being a reliable, customer oriented and quality conscious organization, with almost 60 employees, that takes care of all activities relating to toll collection. We even ensure that every employee, including our managing director, is able to collect toll. And a number of positions are interchangeable, which allows employees to stand in for each other. We make every effort to provide you with professional service.

How did it all start?
N.V. Westerscheldetunnel was established in 1998. Mrs Netelenbos, Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, and Mr Van Gelder, the Queen's Commissioner of the province of Zeeland, signed the Company's deed of incorporation. The national and the provincial government are investing in an independent company in order to provide the financial backing for the construction of the tunnel. The national government owns 95.4% of the shares and the provincial government owns the remaining 4.6%. The company is responsible for running the tunnel. The loan, with profits, will be paid back to the shareholders within 30 years. For that reason, the Company approaches the construction, maintenance and management of the tunnel in a business-like and commercial manner. After 30 years, the Company will hand over the Westerschelde Tunnel to the state for a token sum, after which there will be no charge for using the tunnel. From that point onward, the state will pay for the operating costs.
